Neeraj has extensive experience in development, finance, project management and operation of Projects in Infrastructure and Oil & Gas sector. His experience encompasses business strategy for development of bid out and mandated projects, selection of partners, acquiring assets, structuring of joint ventures, commercial negotiations, investment analysis and valuation, raising debt finance, risk management, capital and revenue budgeting, commercial due diligence and contract management.
Neeraj completed degree in Electrical Engineering in 1984 and MBA in 1988.
His foray into large projects started with Essar (1994-98) where, amongst other projects, he developed LNG receiving terminal project at Hazira, Gujarat. He spent 11 years (1998-2009) with Total India developing 3 projects viz., LNG Terminal at Mumbai, LPG Cavern Project at Visakhapatnam (saw the project from concept to commissioning as CEO) and Hazira Port sub concession deal at Ahmedabad. He worked with Essar Group (2010 – 2015) viz., as Chief Executive Officer of Essar Concessions Limited where he looked after Essar’s foray into infrastructure business (Roads, Airports, Pipelines, CGD, Water, etc.) and as Chief Commercial Offer for Essar Projects India Limited.
At Highway Concessions One (HC1 – from 2016), his stint has seen streamlining of relationship with stakeholders (Authority, Unions, etc.) as well as implementation of technology oriented improvements in ETC, Energy Efficiency, etc. on the road stretches.
He was instrumental in forming Highway Operators Association of India (HOAI), a joint advocacy forum of fund based road operators. He is currently heading HOAI.
